Hamptons-style living, with its relaxed yet elegant coastal vibe, has become a firm favourite in Western Australia over the past decade. With a shared love of our beach locations, it’s easy to see why locals have embraced it so warmly.

At first, homes started popping up with a touch of Hamptons styling and now entire properties are being built featuring all the key elements you would expect to see in the New York town itself.

This spectacular Brian Burke Homes abode is a case in point, featuring high-end creature comforts and drool-worthy fixtures and finishes, yet it facilitates casual family living. According to the builder, the owners wanted a Hamptons-style home that incorporated some formal areas with more open, casual family-friendly spaces.

A luxurious formal area featuring an office, library and separate lounge dominates the right-hand side of the home near the entry.

Beyond that, it opens up to a dining, kitchen and living zone which flows effortlessly out to the pool, alfresco area and pool house.

Off the kitchen is a scullery, mudroom and laundry which has access to the eight-car garage.

Upstairs accommodates the spectacular main suite and three children’s bedrooms with ensuites and walk-in robes, plus a gym and another living area.

The home is carefully positioned on the block so that the large garage is not visible from the front elevation. Instead, entry to the garage is from the rear and this also ensures the outdoor entertaining space is completely private.

The custom cabinetry incorporated throughout the home adds warmth, interest and provides ample space for storage.

Feature decorative ceilings in the office, library, lounge, living and dining areas also create wow factor.

Ample natural light fills the spaces thanks to large double-glazed windows complete with glazing bars and generous skylights.

Detailing on interior trims, mouldings, doors, skirtings, panelling and windows add a touch of glamour and the perfect Hamptons-inspired finishing touches.

The kitchen, scullery, mudroom and laundry were important elements for the homeowner because she has three children and a puppy and loves to cook for her big, extended family.

All of those rooms link so there is direct access from the garage to a spot for school bags, space for the dog bed, room for the sewing machine and children’s crafts, and lots of storage to hide all the mess.

The scullery houses four additional ovens and a walk-in cool room and freezer.
